Love is in the air! The Valentines Dinner together with AEGEE-Utrecht is a beautiful yearly tradition starting all the way from… who knows when? Maybe some fiery romance between members of the two associations made way for other members to get out of their comfort-zone and explore other cities and their AEGEE-locals.
Nonetheless, this year was another great addition to an already lovely event. AEGEE-Utrecht hosted ten hopeless romantics in search of love (or maybe cheap dinner and beer, but who are we to judge their decisions). Before the actual evening, the participants were expected to describe themselves, their interests and what they were truly looking for in a partner. Of course, for such a male-dominating local as Delft, this was a terribly difficult task. Out of nowhere, they had to look deep into their hearts, and find out where they stood in life.
In the end, the organising committee of AEGEE-Utrecht was able to match most (if not all) participants to a person with the same interests as them. As a participant myself, they did an incredible job, with each couple having been matched on a great amount of similar interests.
The rest of the evening was spent getting to know the person you were matched with, while of course eating a delicious three-course valentine’s-themed dinner, including strawberries covered in white chocolate! In the end, it seemed everyone had a wonderful evening. And who knows, maybe another fiery romance has been sparked this year, but you will have to ask this to the participants themselves 🙂
